So lately I have been trying very very hard to look at others photograpy, see their shots and then figure out what I like and dislike about them in order to try to harness the things i like into my own photos. I have alwayhs enjoyed taking photos, ever since I was in middle school where my main job was to take photos for the school yearbook, little did i know that like 6 years later i would be doing that very same job as the editor and chief of my senior year, high school yearbook. Anyway though, within the year i starte dusing a digital SLR camera, dont ask me the brand for I do not entirely know....yet I got to realize the difference between a simle point and shoot (though my point and shoots have always been a bit more high end then the regular buyer) and a digital SLR camera.
Using the digital SLR inspired me to try to formulate my own photo shoot and really start to concentrate on taking beautiful photos of different areas such as woods, old buildings and even the occasional animal. I love people and I love taking photos of them though ask me to do a photoshoot and I have no clue what I am doing due to the fact that I have always been one to enjoy taking candid photos, my firneds don't call me a paparazzi for nothing. Back to the main point though right? I really want to improve upon my photo taking skills, I want to have photos that not only get a few fave hits on DA but also seem to have people comment on them.
Onto why I am writing this journal entry, I have found a site on DA that seems to have an area for young photography artists to show off there work. The place is called Photo critique. They seem to have an area in which photographers can get there photos commented on by other photographers in order to get better, and what with me wanting to get better i figured, what the hell let me give this thing a shot. They are also looking for more members so please, if your a photographer, check out the link and join.
